Hello,

Forgive my ignorance on this subject, I am definitely not a database person but I'm the closest thing our company has to one. I've setup a 2nd Adaxes server in our environment for failover and want to configure a central logging server. I've followed the help article but no matter what am getting a Named Pipe Services error 40 when attemping to connect to our MySQL server. I have an empty database setup and created a user just for the Adaxes service with full permissions on the database but it just won't connect. For troubleshooting I've also tried a user that has full access to the entire server without any luck either.

The help article specifically says MS SQL or Azure SQL so is it safe to assume that our MySQL database is not going to work? We don't have a MS SQL server and certainly won't be setting one up just for this so it would be real bummer if the software doesn't support MySQL or MariaDB.

Thanks in advance!

Hello Andrew,

Unfortunately, there is no possibility to use MySQL as an external database to store Adaxes logs. Only MS SQL and Azure SQL databases can be used.

We will be migrating from the default logging in the SQL Express database to a fully licenses MS SQL Server database. We would like for the existing logs to be ported over as well.

I have filled CustomAttributeText1 with a comma delimited list of numbers for a user. These numbers are unique identifiers for locations stored in out MS SQL database ... manager would be pulled into our SQL database tables by a different scheduled script.
