Due to security restrictions we are planning to deploy:

  • One Adaxes Server per customer with dedicated isolated forest

Could you please clarify what is best way to license Adaxes servers. Do we need to license per Adaxes server or is there any way to license Adaxes server in a centralized way

Hello,

Adaxes is licensed based on the number of enabled and not expired user accounts in a single configuration. As long as you have multiple isolated forests, you will need the same amount of separate Adaxes configurations. As such, you will need the very same number of licenses each covering the quantity of enabled and not expired user accounts in the corresponding managed domains.

In summary if understand your response. I will need two license key for my scenario:

  1. Key for Adaxes Server blue running on dedicated vm. e.g. 100 users (depending on enabled/not expired users)
  2. Key for Adaxes Server red running on dedicated vm e.g. 200 users (depending on enabled/not expired users)

I would like users to use Adaxes to add themselves or others to a group, but instead of it just working, it has to go thru an approval process and be approved by the group owner before they are added. Thanks!
