Attempting to upgrade my Adaxes servers to the latest version.

1 - App server - Adaxes console is installed with Adaxes Backend service and Softerra Adaxes service.

1 - Web Server - Adaxes Web console installed

1 - SQL Server - DB for adaxes

What is the process for upgrading. So far I have Backed up the Configuration on the App server, but how do I backup the web config? Do I need to do anything with the SQL server?

Hello,

how do I backup the web config?

There is no such thing starting with Adaxes 2018.1. The entire configuration is backed up including the web interface setup.

Do I need to do anything with the SQL server?

No, nothing at all.

What is the process for upgrading

Here are the steps you need to take considering that the backup was already made:

  • Uninstall Adaxes from the App server and the Web server.
  • Install Adaxes service and Administration console components on the App server.
  • Restore the backup.
  • Install the web interface component on the Web server.

Now that the upgrade is finished, the console upgraded fine, but now when I go to the web page, It is not up and running. Do I need to run the restore on the web server as well? Also, I am getting a message that my current version of my license is no longer valid. Can I get a new lic file?

Hello,

now when I go to the web page, It is not up and running.

What exactly do you mean? Do you face any errors/warnings? If you do, pelase, post here or send us (support@adaxes.com) screenshots.

Do I need to run the restore on the web server as well?

As is was mentioned in the previous message, there is no such thing. Back up/restore is only possible on a computer where Adaxes service runs.

Also, I am getting a message that my current version of my license is no longer valid. Can I get a new lic file?

Please, contact your Account Manager at sales@softerra.com.

When I click on Browse with IIS open, It does not load the page, It just shows an error. "This site cant be reached"

Hello,

Make sure that there are no redirects configured in IIS. Such an error cannot be caused by anything in Adaxes itself. At the same time, there are a lot of IIS settings that can result in such an issue.
