We've uninstalled the previous version via the "add/Remove Programs" feature in Windows 10, but we still get an error saying that another version of the client is still installed and won't allow us to run the .MSI installer. How can we get around this?

Hello,

What exactly was the name of the program you uninstalled? What MSI are you using for the installation?

Do you face any errors/warnings when initiating the installation? If you do, please, post here or send us (support@adaxes.com) screenshots.

We removed version 2023 of the client.

The MSI we're using is the one found at https://www.adaxes.com/download.htm. We're using the 64 bit version.

The message "Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove programs from the control panel."

Hello,

What exactly was the name of the program you uninstalled? Do you still see Softerra Adaxes in Windows Programs and Features?

This has been resolved. There was another installation of Adaxes Admin Console on his laptop. It was not showing in the Add/Remove programs list. We removed the files and changed the registry values. We are now able to install the new version.

Thank You

We are looking at Adaxes as a way to update user's passwords offline and updating the computer's cached password. Currently, a majority of our computers are off the network ... via the Internet. Is this a viable option? What issues are we not considering?

You do not need to create a trust between AD domains to manage them with an Adaxes service. When registering an AD domain, an account with administrative permissions ... control the user access to the managed resources, the Adaxes service uses Security Roles.
