Whenever I try to use the move mailbox command with the newest version of Adaxes, I encounter this error:

The term 'New-MoveRequest' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.

I'm running this on the admin client that has the full Exchange tools loaded already.

Hello,

That error means that the account of the Adaxes service administrator doesn't have the permission to execute PowerShell cmdlet New-MoveRequest.

You need to assign the Adaxes service account to an Exchange Management Role. For more details, see
Understanding Management Roles.

That was it. That is the first time the service had to be granted Exchange admin rights eventhough other scripts had performed the same function in previous versions.

Thanks!

You are welcome :)

That's because Adaxes establishes a remote PowerShell session with an Exchange server and performs operations remotely (as recommended by Microsoft).

BTW, we recommend assigning the service account to the Organization Management role group in Exchange. This role group provides administrative access to the entire Exchange 2013 organization and can perform almost any task.

If, for some reason, you do not want to provide the account administrative access to your Exchange organization, you need to assign the account to the following role groups in Exchange:
