Given a subset of user accounts within our domain, is it possible to run a report showing all groups they are member of within the domain?

For example, given the following users -

John Doe Jane Doe Joe Smith

I'd like to generate a report showing all the security groups that only those 3 users are members of within the domain.

I found this script on the support portal but this results in an email being sent for each user targeted.

I'd like to be able to generate a single report in a xlsx or csv format that groups by User.

Hello,

Do we understand correctly that the report should include only the security groups where only all the specified users are members and there are no other members? If not, please, provide us with all the possible details regarding the desired report with live examples.

No not neccessarily. We're looking for a report that shows all the groups that all 3 users are in. So for example -

User A is in:

Group 1 Group 2 Group 3 Group10

User B is in: Group 4 Group 2 Group 5

User C is in Group7 Group1 Group3 Group 9

I want to create a single report that shows all those group memberships but limit the scope to only show group membership for those 3 users and not every user in my domain.

Is that possible?

Hello,

Thank you for the provided details. Yes, it is possible. To create the desired report you can use the built-in Users' membership in groups report as base:

  1. Launch Adaxes Administration Console.
  2. In the Console Tree, expand your service node.
  3. Navigate to Reports\All Reports\Groups\Membership.
  4. Right-click the Users' membership in groups report and then click Copy in the context menu. image.png
  5. Right-click the container where the new report will be located and then click Paste in the context menu.
  6. Enter a name for the new report and click OK.
  7. Right-click the new report and click Edit in the context menu. image.png
  8. Select the Columns checkbox. image.png
  9. Activate the Scope tab.
  10. Delete all the existing scopes and click New.
  11. Select Specific objects and click Next twice. image.png
  12. Click Configure. image.png
  13. In the Display only objects that match the following LDAP filter field, enter this filter: (sAMAccountType=805306368) image.png
  14. Click OK and then click Finish.
  15. Activate the Columns tab.
  16. Below the Default columns section, click Edit. image.png
  17. Specify the columns that will be present in the report by default and click OK twice.
