Hi there,

we have some custom commands that need the enter-pssession with -sshtransport which is only available in PWSH7. Is it supported to install powershell7 right on the adaxes server?

Kind regards, Constantin

It seems that Adaxes runs on Powershell 5.1.17763.2268 and does not use any newer PS Versions installed. I guess a workaround could be to run an external program and call pwsh7. Not the nice way, but that could be working.

Is there any other idea/way to change the ps version?

Hello,

Yes, you are right, Adaxes does not support PowerShell 7 as it is currently installed as a separate application alongside with another version. Using the workaround you mentioned looks to be the only way.

I'm assuming Adaxes utilises the PowerShell SDK for it's PowerShell runspaces? Is support for PowerShell 7.* runspaces on the Adaxes roadmap?

Hello,

That is not correct. Adaxes uses the built-in Windows PowerShell. As PowerShell 7 is currently installed as a separate standalone application along with built-in PowerShell, there is no possibility to use PowerShell 7 in Adaxes.

But is support for PowerShell 7.* runspaces on the Adaxes roadmap?

Proper PowerShell integration with host applications is performed via the Windows PowerShell .NET SDK, I'd be curious on how else you're integrating PowerShell into Adaxes if not for the Windows PowerShell .NET SDK.
