I would like to create a scheduled task to search for specific AD groups based on part of the name and automatically be added to the Business Unit. I am not finding much online about it and it doesn't appear to be an OOB thing in Scheduled Tasks.

Membership in business units is determined based on the corresponding rules. There are no actions for adding members to business units. Also, there is no need to use scheduled tasks to achieve the behaviour you need. It can be done by just creating a business unit with the corresponding membership rules.
