Adaxes was uninstalled by one of our techs while trying to troubleshoot the Adaxes service not starting. Unfortunately, we had not yet taken a backup using the service back up option. We have a full VM backup and can pull the files from the back up. Is there a way to restore the configuration files from VM back up? Is there a specific location the configuration files are stored?

Thanks.

Hello,

Adaxes service Configuration is stored on an instance of AD LDS that serves as Adaxes service backend. Thus, there is no possibility to pull it directly from the VM backup.

As a solution, you can restore the VM backup and then create a backup of Adaxes service and Web Interface Configuration. For information on how to create the backups, check the following help articles:
http://www.adaxes.com/help/?HowDoI.Mana ... ation.html
http://www.adaxes.com/help/?HowDoI.Conf ... onfig.html.

To avoid similar issues in the future, we recommend performing backup of Adaxes Service and the Web interface configuration on a regular basis. To do this automatically in unattended mode, you can set up a Windows Scheduled Task that performs the backup, say, once a week. For command-line syntax of the backup/restore utilities, see the following help articles:
http://www.adaxes.com/help/?HowDoI.Mana ... dLine.html
http://www.adaxes.com/help/?HowDoI.Conf ... dLine.html.

Thanks. That thought occurred to me after I posted my original question and that's the approach I am working on now. I will definitely schedule backups on a regular basis.

Thanks.
