Hello

I recently enrolled the "Adaxes Self-Service password reset" manually on about 20 devices (no MDM).

It was a mix of iMac's and Macbook's. A few of them were Mac's with network (AD)-Accounts, so no problem and it worked fine, but the majority were Macbook's with local accounts and i was forced to join them in the AD.

I know that you need a network account and i searched in a few forums and according to these forums you need to migrate the local account with the existing network account, but that could be a bit risky, because you need to delete a few things (not entirely, but its complicated).

Maybe you guys have already experience with that kind of problem.

Hello,

You are correct, to be able to reset forgotten passwords using the Adaxes Self-service client, the computer must be joined to an Active Directory (AD) domain. The following Apple article should be helpful: https://support.apple.com/en-mk/guide/directory-utility/diru11f4f748/mac.
