Start Date on new user form

Question

Hello-

How can I add a field that will allow HR to enter a start date when creating new users?

I added under the additional properties-custom attribute time stamp but don't think that really plays well with it.

For termination- I was thinking to add Term Date and %date% in the deprovision custom command, in the email portion. Usually terminations are done the day of...doesn't work the same way for new hires. especially if you want to create and notify the team ahead of time.

Hello,

Yes, sure. For this purpose, you can use one of Adaxes virtual properties that can store date/time values, for example, CustomAttributeDate1. Adaxes virtual properties are not stored in Active Directory, but can be used as any other properties of Active Directory objects.

You can add the property to the pages used for creating, viewing and editing users. For instructions on how to do this, see the 6th step of the following tutorial: http://www.adaxes.com/tutorials_WebInte ... diting.htm. After you press the Add button, you will need to select the Show all properties option as virtual properties are not shown by default.

Also, probably a name like CustomAttributeDate1 will not tell much to your users about the function of the property. You can give the property your own name. For instructions, see the following help article: http://www.adaxes.com/help/?HowDoI.Mana ... Names.html.

Yes, sure. Take a look at the following tutorial that describes how to achieve a very similar task, making the Employee ID property required and specifying its format: http://www.adaxes.com/tutorials_Simplif ... Format.htm. You can use it as a guide.

• On the 4th step of the tutorial, click Add, select the Show all properties option in the drop-down list and select the property that you've chosen to store the start date, for example, CustomAttributeDate1.
  
• Select the The property is required option and click OK.
