Can the Exchange Management Tools only be safely installed on an Adaxes Server?

Microsoft supports decommissioning your last on prem Exchange Server and managing receipients using Windows PowerShell. See: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/manage-hybrid-exchange-recipients-with-management-tools

Unfortunately, this means that we can no longer run commands remotely to the Exchange Server. We can run commands against any domain attached machine if it has the Exchange Management Tools only on it.

Can the Exchange Management Tools be installed safely on an Adaxes Server?

Hello Ray,

Yes, it should be safe to install Exchange Management Tools on the computer with Adaxes components. Adaxes itself does not interact with Exchange Management Tools in any way.

The reason I ask is that (as an example) the response that was given here will not work because the New-PSSession cannot connect to the Exchange Server (it no longer is running): https://www.adaxes.com/questions/863/365-hybrid-new-user-creation

This is a very old thread and Exchange Management Tools did not exist by that time. The approach suggested in the thread is specifically for on-premises Exchange servers. As for Exchange Management Tools, we were not able to find an approach allowing to connect to it in a script using something similar.
